Indu K. Mallah is a writer, poet, literary critic, and social activist, living in Ooty. She has been contributing to all the leading publications in the country, including The Hindu, The Indian Express, Times of India, Deccan Herald, Span, Swagat, Discover India, Book-Review, Biblio, Front-line, etc. Several of her short stories have been broad-cast over B.B.C., and several of her poems have been published by Indian Literature, the Sahithya Academy journal. Her novel, Shadows in Dream-time, has won wide critical acclaim, and has been translated into several languages including German, Dutch, Portuguese, and Japanese. Many scholars have based their theses on the book, and it has been compared to Finnegan’s Wake, by James Joyce. Two of her screen-plays have won national awards.
Some years ago, a cross-section of her writings was show-cased in a B.B.C. web-site on S. Asian women-writers. Widely-travelled, Indu K. Mallah has attended several U.N. conferences, and international literary conferences, and poetry festivals.
