About the Book

Rains In June

  (poem For Inspiration)

June, So Sweet, So Soothing,

now That The Monsoon Has Set In!

We Had Been Waiting So Long,

for A Little Relief

from The Relentless Summer,

the Burning That It Carries.

The Rain Clouds Came

just When We Were

about To Lose Our Patience,

just As It Happens In Your Case,

in Spite Of My Deep Longing

for You Or For The Rains.

The School Field Across The Road

is Now Full Of Grass,

shining Green And Wet,

under Fresh Rains.

The Rains Have Reduced Now

to A Husk-dust Shower.

Through My Window

I Can See Little Girls Playing

on The Lush Green Grass

like Little Bubbles,

dancing On The Flowing Water,

enjoying Themselves

to Their Heart's Content.

Their Winged Friends On Treetops Try

to Shake The Rain-dust Off

their Proud Wings.

It Was So Dreamy All Around,

so Pleasant! Your Smile

added To The Sparkle

of The Rain Washed Leaves,

as You Sat Before Me

resting Your Face On Your Palm.

I Felt The Rains Seep

through My Whole Being,

slowly, Silently.
