Mystical insight allows a poem to find a lifelong place at the bottom of a reader’s heart, and while reading Mallika Bhaumik’s anthology of poems, I was wondering how I can create a huge warehouse deep down my heart to accommodate varied intense, passionate thoughts, deep rooted introspection, peaceful co-existence of agony and ecstasy, a mother’s empathy, and many more life centric perceptions and perspectives dwelling at the soul of the poems of Echoes. Each poem is a reader’s delight. Each poem opens up a new window of life. Each poem is relentlessly thought provoking. Mallika Bhaumik has a Master’s degree from the University of Calcutta in English Literature. She is passionate about writing and has contributed in many national and international anthologies and e-zines. Her other interests include reading, music, travelling and cooking. She lives with her husband and sons in Kolkata and is a proud Kolkatan.
