Ashok Chakravarthy Tholana is a poet and review writer, hailing from Hyderabad City, Telangana State, INDIA. He has been composing poetry for the past 25 years and has the distinction of getting his poems selected for publication in various literary magazines, newspapers, journals, e-zines, anthologies etc. in no less than 90 countries.
Mr. Ashok is conferred with several prestigious awards, including two doctorates and quite a lot of commendations for his poetry contributions to promote Universal Peace, World Brotherhood, Environment Consciousness, Protection of Environment, Safeguarding Children’s Rights etc. His poem “Plant More Trees” for United Nations ‘Billion Tree Campaign’ was set to tune and released by “Association Pour la Terra”, France; which received wide acclaim from several schools across the world. He received laurels from Malaysia’s prestigious ‘Medallion Pulara’ in recognition of his contribution towards ‘world peace’ through poetry. His poem was chosen as one of the best English poem submitted by world poets during 2016 and published in a special issue brought out to mark the Formosa Poetry Festival, Taiwan, titled, “Literature of the Saline Land”. Mr. Ashok has been recently nominated for the Highly Revered, Republic of Venezuela’s “Merito Al Trabajo” 2017 award. He happens to be the first Indian citizen to be nominated by ‘Republic of Venezuela’ with the rare distinction. And, his poems have been translated into 14 international languages.
As of now, five out of Ashok’s 18 volumes of English poetry have been published and translation of 12 spiritual-related books were carried out by him from Telugu language to English.
