Rev. Fr. Dr. S. Maria Rajendran is the Secretary of Nanjil Catholic College of Arts and Science, Kaliyakkavilai, Kanyakumari District, Tamilnadu, India. He is an Assistant Professor in Social Work in the Post Graduate Department of Social Work, Nanjil Catholic College of Arts and Science, Kaliyakkavilai.
Nanjil Catholic College of Arts and Science is the brain child of Rev. Fr. Dr. S. Maria Rajendran as he is the Founder Secretary. It is his long time mission to start M.S.W., course in this southern part of the country and has done it successfully in his institution from the inception.
He has completed B.A. Philosophy from Arul Anandar College, Karumathur, Madurai, B.Th. from Sacred Heart Seminary, Poonamallee, Chennai. He earned his M.S.W. degree from Malankara Catholic College, Mariagiri, Kaliyakkavilai, Kanyakumari District and M. Phil., from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. The ignition of research interest in him motivated to register withManonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu as a Research Scholar and has been awarded Ph.D. degree for the successful completion. His research work has been graded with ’Highly commended’. He has published many articles in National and International Journals.
His academic interest accelerated him further and Rev. Fr. Dr. S. Maria Rajendran has got Masters Degree in M.A English, M.A Public Administration, M.A Tourism and Travel Studies, M.B.A in Project Management, M.Sc Psychology and P.G. Diploma in Dairy Technology.
To augment his role as a Roman catholic priest is immense; he is a very good Musician. He is a very good Singer, Guitarist and Keyboardist. He is a very good composer who released number of Tamil audio cassettes to promote spiritual and social life of humanity and to name few: Uravukkaha, Uravin Ozhi, Uravalaihal, Kalvari Kaayankal, Uravaalayam,.Uravoviyam, Uravin Oyire, Uravin Uthayam and Uravennum Nathiyile.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Maria Rajendran is an able administrator and a visionary and proved his mettle as he took the role of Managing Director of Nanjil Milk Plant for six long years and promoted it as one of the very successful profit making unit by meticulous planning, comprehensible administration, innovative ideas and dedicated service and which fetch him the dividend to the extent of carrying out various welfare projects for the women and outreached.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Maria Rajendran is basically a missionary and a futurist and has initiated number of academic institutions; which are now successfully run and cater to the educational needs of the poor and downtrodden. He took initiative and established Trinity CBSE School at Chithirancode, Nanjil CBSE School at Vazhuthalampallam and Nanjil Catholic College of Arts and Science at Kaliyakkavilai, Kanyakumari District.
