Alex is a Canadian citizen of Indian birth whose ancestry traces back to a traditional conservative Christian family from the State of Kerala, located near the southwest coast by the Western Ghats. Alex acquired a passion for Kumaran Asan's poetry from his late father, Mr. K.C. Eapen and his late uncle, Mr. K.C. Abraham who was an accomplished Aksharaslokist, the art of traditional chanting of Malayalam poetry with the strictest of rules for poetry recitation. Over the past few decades Alex studied Asan's poems with fervour and intensity. He was inspired by the deftness of Asan's pen, and his ability to draw natural imagery to expound his philosophy of life. Chindavishtayaya Sita, loosely translated as Sita's Musings is one of Asan's most famous and critically acclaimed literary work. As you will find here, Asan challenges and provokes his readers to have an open mind while he takes them on a journey through an un-trodden territory.
It is Alex's hope that the reader will take some time to reflect on how Asan strikes a chord with his readers by writing lyrics richly laced with imagery, blended with a message of hope in the midst of despair; one that offers some solace for your everyday struggles in an imperfect world.
Alex currently lives in Edmonton Canada with his wife Maya and two children Rebekah and Benjamin.
