About the Book

These Poems…

These poems are a mirror in which you get your own reflection, sometimes clear, at others hazy and foggy, nevertheless your true reflection if you deep-breathe them. Poetry is beauty. Poetry is truth. Poetry is divine. The poems in this volume strive to make your reflection wrap in beauty, truth and divinity. A deep immersion in them will inspire your consciousness to respond to them with ecstasy and a spontaneous assertion: Yes, that is it. These poems present life in its myriad forms and their rainbow colours will come hopping to you, touch the cords of your heart and you will feel the inner bliss. They are bound to stir your soul and the vibrations will be a source of eternal joy as they help in creating an ’invisible connect’ between you and Nature.

About the Author

O.P. Arora, a well-known poet, novelist and short story writer, holds a distinctive place among contemporary Indian writers in English. He is an excellent academician, a brilliant scholar and a profound thinker. Intensity and spontaneity lend a unique charm to Dr Arora’s poems. Four volumes of his poems, The Creeping Shadows, Embers in the Ashes, The Edge of the Cliff, and Pebbles on the Shore explore the inner recesses of his consciousness and express his honest and emotive responses to the life he has experienced. They vividly reveal his keen comprehension of contemporary society and the world, his love for nature, his sensitivity, his deep insight and his philosophic attitude. They have been received well and critically acclaimed. These volumes also amply reflect his poetic growth over the years, both in content and craftsmanship. His poems have been published in almost all the leading literary journals, magazines and dailies and have been generously included in the prominent anthologies.

Dr Arora has published three novels, A Bite of Paradise, The Silken Traps and Beyond the Mists which have been widely appreciated as true portrayals of contemporary India. He has to his credit two books in Hindi too –one, a novel, and the other, a collection of short stories.

He has an excellent academic record and holds a Doctorate in English Literature from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He has taught in Delhi University for nearly four decades
