The Fiction Unfolded: Critical Gazes on Indian Women Novelists in Englishis a collection of nineteen essays on eight novelists, exploring important themes, theories and burning issues of the world in which women live. The various interpretations provide a solid base for working out different dimensions on suppression, oppression, discrimination, and patriarchal domination and in particular, the symbolic representation of ancient characters from the Puranic times. Woman constitutes the bulk of the criticism and the central character in the book also portrays her struggles, challenges and sufferings.
