Dr Shruti Das is Associate Professor in the Department of English and the Associate Director of Centre for Canadian Studies at Berhampur University in Odisha, India. She is a creative writer and a critic, writing bilingually in English and her native tongue Odia. She has participated, presented papers and chaired sessions in many National and International Seminars on English Language, Literature and Communication skills in India, USA and Europe. She has Chaired sessions and given talks in the UK, Ireland, USA, two Universitiesin France, in Greece, Romania, Poland, Malta and Malaysia. She has delivered Keynote andPlenary lectures in various Universities and organizations. She has been a visiting lecturer infour universities in Poland. She was invited to present a paper in the Heads of Commonwealth Govenment’s sponsored Conference 2015, in Malta. She has the distinction of being placed in the ALA Directory of Scholars, Princeton University, USA. She has won the Prestigious ALSE Biennial Travel Award for 2019. She has written the Forewordfor Crisis of Imagination, a book on Ecocriticism, published by the University of Rzeszow, Poland. A translator and public speaker of repute, she hasreceived international acclaim and has been placed in the Bibliography of CommonwealthWriters for her first volume of Poems and been awarded the Author of the Month April 2017by Spillwords an international e-journal. Her poetry has been published in many anthologies and journals in India and abroad. A serious academic 20 MPhils and 5 PhDs have beenawarded under her supervision till date, she has set question papers and adjudicated scores of thesis from various Universities in India and abroad. She is Member Board of Studies of many Universities and member of various prestigious professional bodies. She is widely travelled and is member Board of Editors and member Advisory Body of many National and International Literary Journals and the Editor of Literary Oracle: An International Journal of Literature and Culture. She has organized 3 International Conferences and 2 National conferences.Her special interests are Eco-criticism; Critical Theory; South Asian Feminism, Postcolonialism, Indian literature and Indian Aesthetics; Linguistics and English LanguageTeaching, and Soft Skills.
