This book is aimed at studying the idea of Region and Nation in literature and the representation of the region in the novels of R. K. Narayan and Pannalal Patel viewing its various perspectives. The book examines various literary texts by the authors in question along with critical discourses about them to elaborately discuss the concepts and ideas. The first chapter lays out the various concept and the issues of the nation and region and its textual representation as discussed by various theorists and thinkers, while the second and third chapters are focused especially on representation of regional consciousness through a variety of angles to have better understanding of the issues involved.

Dr. Bhagvanbhai H. Chaudhari (b. 1964) achieved Bachelor degree in English from M. N. College, Visnagar in 1989, Bachelor of Education from B. Ed. College, Patan in 1990, Master degree from M. N. College, Visnagar in 1993, and L.L.B from Law College, Unjha in 2003 affiliated with N. G. University, Patan (Gujarat). Dr. B. H. Chaudhari obtained his Ph.D. Degree from the M.S. University of Baroda in 2016 on The Representation of Region in the Novels of R. K. Narayan and Pannalal Patel: A Comparative Study. He has been serving as Associate Professor at the Department of English in The K. N. S. B. L. Arts and Commerce College, Kheralu (Gujarat) since 1993. His’14 articles have been published in books and international journals. He has presented papers in State, National and International level Seminars and participated in various workshops, symposium and faculty development training programmes. He hadalso served as a member of N. S. S. Advisory Committee at University level. At college level he had conducted his responsibilities as a Professor-in-charge of PG Dept. (SF), Coordinator of CBCS, Asst. Coordinator of NAAC Committee, member of IQAC Cell and Programme Officer of N. S. S Unit.
