Dr. Sonali Singh is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (UP). She was Ms. Agatha Harrison Visiting Fellow for two years (2010-2012) at St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford, UK. Her broad area of specialization is Political Theory and particularly, terrorism studies, Gandhian studies, Women issues and Human rights. She is member of various bodies and presented research papers in many National and International Seminars and Conferences. She has published articles in journals, newspapers, magazines and is the author of the book titled, Reinterpreting Human Rights: A Third World Perspective. She has won Best Research Paper Award, 2015, Human Rights Promotion Award 2001, Karan Singh Gold Medal for First class and First Position in M.A.1995, selected for National Scholarship for B.A.1993 and UGC Research Fellowship, 1995. She is also invited as political analyst in various talk shows in leading media channels.
